About
This was a great British sitcom starring Anne as Max, a pas-her-prime Hollywood starlet and star, and Charlotte Coleman as Freddie, a normal girl who falls into a job as Max's personal assistant. The classic use of foil characters really hits the mark in this show. Both actresses are wonderfully entertaining, I just wish there were more of it. Unfortunately, Anne decided TV wasn't for her, and the show never made it past season one. Such a shame, it was really getting into it's groove and I think could have been one of the funniest shows of it's time if they'd just done more episodes.
A discription of the show:
The show takes place mainly in Max's penthouse suite at the London Savoy Hotel, Freddie is there to help Max with her memoirs which she'd taken a retainer to write. However, Max just wants Freddie to be another kind of assistant: the martini-making, bath-drawing, dry-cleaner-delivering kind. Freddie won't have it, through lots of sneakery and persuasion, she finally gets Max exited about it. By the end of the season, the memoirs plot takes a back burner as the characters themselves are enough to keep the shows interesting.
